About Us
KRHTEL GROUP is the Single Family Office of the Markakis family, established to carry forward the legacy and entrepreneurial journey of its founders.
The Markakis family’s history in Brazil began in the 1960s, with the arrival of its first family members from the island of Crete, Greece.
In 1967, the family founded COPAL (Casa Osasquense de Produtos Alimentícios), a food distribution company supplying grains to wholesalers, supermarkets, specialty food stores, and restaurants throughout the state of São Paulo.
In 1980, the business expanded with the founding of Comercial Carajás, a wholesale company serving major supermarket chains across São Paulo and neighboring states.
In 1990, the family entered the retail market with the opening of the first Millo’s Supermercados store in Osasco.
In 1998, the Millo’s chain was sold to Grupo Pão de Açúcar, a leading Brazilian retail group.
In 2001, the family returned to the sector with Goody’s Hipermercados, a hypermarket chain that was acquired by Sonda Supermercados, a Brazilian supermarket operator, later that same year.
In 2009, this legacy gave rise to KRHTEL GROUP, initially established to manage the family’s real estate portfolio. As the family diversified its investments, KRHTEL GROUP evolved into a Single Family Office dedicated exclusively to managing its own capital.
Today, the group operates across three main areas: real estate development and management of income-producing assets; investments in global liquid markets; and strategic co-investment partnerships in private markets. Its portfolio spans Brazil and international markets.
Its approach is grounded in three pillars: capital preservation, governance, and a long-term perspective.
